Classic design DE razor, incorporating the 'butterfly' design, that allows for a closer, irritation free shave. The balanced ergonomic design of the Merkur Vision means that this 100% metal shaver (brass, die-cast and non-corrosive steel) can be held close to, or, far from the blade and moved in or against the direction of hair growth while shaving. The fissures in the blade and sides can be individually and continuously adjusted, to achieve a preferred blade position. Built with precision engineering, this is a razor of the highest quality.

This little beauty arrived in super quick time from the UK, even though there's supposed to be a mail strike there.

It's a beautiful piece of German engineering. It's substantial in weight so no shaving pressure is required, let the weight do the work. The Merkur blade/s come second only to the Japanese-made Feather. It's an expensive razor for sure but, the quality's there. The adjustable head (which changes the angle of the blade) can cope with just about any density of beard. A good quality soap/brush combination will give you, perhaps, the very best shave you've ever experienced.

I had a little problem at first. The razor disassembled in a trice BUT I must've spent the best part of 4 hours trying to figure out how to put it all back together again! Using the enclosed, printed assembly instructions AND three videos I found on YouTube I was still having problems until finally the penny dropped and it went together beautifully. I'm now a Merkur assembly expert !

I've not been this satisfied with any purchase for a long, long time. If you're hesitating about buying this razor, take the plunge, you won't be disappointed.
