This razor is a replica of the original Gillette safety razor and has an elegant design etched into the handle for a firm grip.     This was my first venture into the world of DE safety razors, and it has been a great buy. Gives a very good overall shave, and far better than any multi-blade razor I've used in the past. The razor itself is built to a very high standard and feels solid and weighty. I'm now using a Merkur HD (34c), but I would recommend the Merkur 1904 as a perfect safety razor to begin with and learn a good technique, as there is a slight learning curve when using these type of razors.
